How did you become involved with The Toy Chest?
After the birth of my daughter, my brother, Ron Gray came to me with the idea of starting a children’s charity. I loved the idea of being able to reach out to others in need within the state of Kentucky. The charity began to evolve with the help of an amazing group of close friends. I am beyond excited to see what the future holds for The Toy Chest Children’s Charity.
What inspires you to make a difference?
Being a part of a charity where everyone has the same goal in mind. What we all do comes from the heart. Witnessing a smile on a child’s face when you are able to hand them a gift at Christmas or a new pair of shoes for the first day of school when you know they would have not have anything otherwise. Also knowing that you’ve helped lift a burden from a hardworking parent that is just down on their luck and needs a little help is quite an inspiration.
Looking into my own daughters eyes and seeing her big smile when she knows The Toy Chest is going to make a small difference in a child’s life. Hearing her give her own rendition of what The Toy Chest Children’s Charity is.
What are you doing to “Be Relevant” in the community?
Serving on the board and being the service chair is an honor. It’s my privilege knowing that people can contact me in time of need.
Things you may not know about me.
I am not a professional photographer, but I am deeply in love with taking photos. I enjoy cooking and would love to own a Country diner. I love spending time outdoors with my husband and daughter.
