Sarah Bosso

Position on the Board: Vice President

Occupation: Vice President of Business Development, Lexington Legends

How did I become involved with the Toy Chest?

I have attended a couple Toy Chest events and sponsored a couple kids for Christmas through my good friend and now fellow board member, Jessica Collins.  When I moved back to Lexington from Southern California in October of 2016, Jessica and Ron asked me to join the Board!  I more than willingly said yes!

What inspires you to make a difference?

Seeing the random acts of kindness in daily life through friends and strangers.  There’s still so much good in this world, and it inspires me to continue to pay it forward.  Every child deserves to feel carefree and experience joy, and I feel like I’m helping achieve that through my participation in this amazing grassroots organization.

What are you doing to “Be Relevant” in the community?

My role as the Vice President of Business Development for the Lexington Legends allows me to be quite active in the community.  I am involved with and connected to many organizations, schools, and businesses as well as also serving on another board for the United Way of the Bluegrass. One of the biggest reasons why I was eager to join the Toy Chest Board was because I wanted to assist and help enhance their efforts by sharing my connections in the community, which has been great for our Christmas efforts!  It makes me very happy!  I try to consistently give back either through donating my time or resources.  Building a better community is beneficial for everyone! I’m thankful I get to contribute and be a part of it.

Things you may not know about me:

I’m a Navy brat and have moved around quite a bit throughout my life, but claim Missouri as my home state!  I graduated from the University of Missouri in 2005 and started my career teaching high school Family and Consumer Sciences for 4 years in Columbia, Missouri.  In 2009, I started my Masters degree program at the University of Kentucky and graduated in 2011 with a Master of Science degree in Merchandising, Apparel and Textiles, with an emphasis on Historic Costume and Museum Preservation.  I enjoy being outdoors, cheering on the Mizzou Tigers, Kentucky Wildcats, St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals (yes, all of them!), shopping, road trips and spending time with close friends and my dog, Dakota.
